The Robot In Me

Movement and Identity

A project exploring physical ability, how it impacts our identity and how we relate to the world around us.

Working with people affected by physical disabilities and muscle loss, Empower, a ground breaking synthetic muscle research project and cross sector professionals in sport, the arts, technology, healthcare and ethics, we explore what agility means in today’s world.

The work invites audiences to reflect upon physical strength and control and what happens when it is gone? To imagine their future selves; if strength were a commodity? To consider the power of robotics and AI and new ways to innovate healthcare for ageing populations using cutting edge technology and biomedical science.

As we moving forwards as a society, who will be the movers and shakers?
