The workshops are part of a wider programme of collaboration, experimentation and artistic residencies, culminating in the creation and performance of a new opera in summer 2021. This rich and unique blend of the arts and science will explore the experiences and narratives of those who have experienced voice loss or vocal change, their families, and the healthcare professionals who dedicate their careers to supporting them.

We begin the project with four separate groups, so you can join a group that you feel most closely associated to. However, if these dates and times do not work for you then you are very welcome to join a different group.

There will be a break over December and January in order for artists to start creating sections of the opera. We will share their work in progress with everyone in the final workshop in February.

No prior musical experience or expertise is necessary. Workshops will take place online via Zoom so that we are able to continue safely with the project during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are able to offer FREE places to those with experience of voice loss (including family members or close friends) or those whose work is connected to the voice in healthcare, medicine, speech/music therapy or technology sectors.

The deadline for sign up to the project has now passed, but there may be some spaces left. If you would like to take part please contact to check availability before completing the online sign up form.
